Organiek mechaniek

Design and visualization of playful acrobatics performance

Organiek Mechaniek is a playful Exploration of the Organic in the Mechanical

“We all know the feeling: having to do something you really don’t want to do. But then there’s that little voice in your head that says, “You must.” Some call it your “alter ego”—a term derived from Latin, meaning “your other self.” But why not give it a new name? What about “your own other”?

Do you ever feel like you have two selves? Do you find yourself gazing into the mirror at the other version of you? When you talk to yourself, do you sometimes end up laughing together? And is it possible to feel lonely, even with two selves?”

Organiek Mechaniek is a performance that uses soundscapes, music, and pure bicycle acrobatics to showcase a playful, theatrical language of movement. It’s a show that reimagines the (bicycle) wheel in a uniquely creative way, bringing everything full circle once more.
